"Smashing Doves" by Michael W. Greene begins like a ride on a
ferris wheel. It soon intensifies exponentially into a roller
coaster ride from hell." --
Michael Thal, eBook Reviews Weekly,
Author of "The Legend of Koolura"

It has some action, some romance, and some comedy. Reviewers have compared it to Love Hina, Dragonball Z, and Tenchi Muyo!

Smashing Doves

SMASHING DOVES

"His true love went to another galaxy... and then he had to rescue her.

Gilbert, a social misfit at the University of Eastern Indiana, follows his true love to the other side of the galaxy... where he is shot, stabbed, drowned, burned, poisoned, chased by a dragon... and then things get "really" complicated when he discovers there is a rupture in the space time continuum. It wouldn't be that bad... except everyone expects Gilbert to fix it!"

Book News and other Stuff

March 21st, 2004: Been very busy.

Cool artist links:

July 15th, 2002. The artist who will have their work on the cover and get $250 is Mirana (entry to the top left). I will contact Mirana this week, and try to work out a release form for the cover. If things do not work out with Mirana, then the first runner up is Estonia (to the right).

This was not an easy decision to make between these two finalists. The first runner-up has a very good understanding of Hanna. She has the blades, the glow, and evil eyes in the background which I really liked. I would have been very happy to have Estonia's artwork on the cover of Smashing Kings.

In all honesty, Mirana's entry was not my initial favorite when I first saw it. There are many things that make a cover a cover, not just attention to detail. But I looked at it again. Although this is an action series, it has strong, emotional, characters. I felt that the fire in the background, with Hanna standing and surveying everything around her... it was "what I wanted."

The other four finalists, in no particular order. Blue Bug, Isabelle, kiki and mara, and Bethany. I am very happy with these finalists. Each of them will get an autographed copy of Smashing Kings.

Incase things do not work out with the winner for whatever reason, the first runner-up will then get the prize money and the art placed on the cover of the book. The first runner up will also get an autographed copy of both books.

Nick Katzfey will have his illustration ( not currently posted on website) placed in the book, and gets an autographed copy.

**author's note: Maintaining a website is an awful lot of work. I've had pages load correctly for weeks, and then all of a sudden, they don't load right anymore. So I have to fix them. Very bothersome. So if it took me longer than expected to get your artwork on here... please forgive me. I'm a writer, not a computer genius.
